Steve Irwin
Steve Irwin was an Australian wildlife conservationist and television personality whose image became synonymous with Australia across the world. Known for his direct manner, enthusiasm for the natural environment, and unmistakable presence on screen, he represented a distinctly Australian approach to nature, risk, and public life.
This work forms part of an ongoing Australian identity series that places widely recognised figures into a familiar visual language without instruction or conclusion. The series does not attempt to define Australianness, but presents symbols that have shaped how Australia is seen—both internally and abroad.
Printed in Melbourne on high-quality, heavyweight satin photo paper and designed for indoor display, the composition is deliberately minimal and direct.
Part of a contemporary Australian portrait series — recognisable, grounded, and open to interpretation.
